THE PROJECT: HARD SHOULDER is a psych thriller starring Wil Johnson and Jamie Foreman. An ambitious, cleverly woven, non-linear feature narrative in the vein of "Secret Window" shooting on a 3-4 week schedule from August 2009, on 2 perf 35mm, getting it in the can using a cash budget of only £125k.

WHO WE NEED: You will have to be a true collaborator, not a hope-to-be, fast-thinking, and unafraid of getting your hands dirty in the pursuit of 'making things happen'. You will need to be diplomatic yet hungry for getting the best out of everyone to design and build the ultimate set, always aware of the guerilla-filmmaking needs of the collective pursuant to making the whole production design as authentic as possible. This is a great project to show the world what you can do. We have concept artwork from which you will begin your design, a scale model to reference, and process to build from blueprint plans.

You will need to be a 'can-do' professional without fear of failure, and always striving to make the impossible, possible. Good design and planning skills with the ability to think and act 'outside the box' when necessary really goes without saying, yet you'll be comfortable 'in the box' striving to satisfy the many aesthetic 'wants' of the Director. Experience with big productions is NOT necessary, but a creative mind and hands-on approach is. You'll be the calm in amongst the creative madness, and the johnny-on-the-spot when problems arise with design and build (and they always do).

WHAT WE OFFER: The project is, sadly, low paid, with all HOD's on a flat rate to be negotiated and confirmed. Weekly rates are unlikely to reach Pact/Bectu minimums on the basis of maintaining some degree of parity with the named cast (it's an EVLB registered project after all). You don't get much on £125k it's fair to say. We've been told it can't be done. We intend to PROVE that it can. Are YOU ready to meet the challenge?

WHERE: The project is currently pencilled to be shooting at 3 Mills Studios, London and in Essex. Availability of studios may alter this.

EXPENSES: Per diem travel expenses will be offered where at all possible.

INCENTIVE: All HOD's may take up a modest percentage share holding in the Prod Co by way of 'back end' bonus to be held imperpetuity for as long as the project makes money (and it will)  on all platforms worldwide.

The project'll need your input at every move of pre-production and onwards, so if you've currently got time on your hands (pre-production starts 10/07/09) and can get us onto a well crafted set and on schedule, then even better - apply now.
