Full Job Description

To lead a technical delivery team, focused on the implementation and service delivery of products, systems & networks. To ensure that all aspects of operability are delivered as part of the implementation process whilst ensuring full compliance to operational standards, procedures and best practise. It involves close liaison with various operational, editorial, project, and development teams as well working within the Service Organisation to ensure ongoing service and support can be maintained to agreed service levels.  This role will include creating and maintaining a highly motivated and service-focused delivery team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Provide a high-level of technical expertise & support.
Staff supervision and day-to-day management.
Close liaison with Editorial and Technical teams to maximise customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain effective protocols and etiquette.
Contribute work out-of-hours when appropriate to support major implementations or to react to high-priority News coverage, resource or service issues.
Ensure that appropriate documentation is delivered- such as, support procedures for MCR Operations staff, training documents, status reports and metrics, Service Level Agreements and system diagrams. 
Co-ordinate activities between different customers where required. Provide detailed implementation/project plans across multiple complex work streams. Risk and issue management, including following appropriate escalation procedures. Expectation management, ensuring all plans and expectations are well grounded. Contribute to the definition and implementation of operating procedures and operability on new and existing systems, ensuring adherence to Operations Standards. Apply technical policies and standards to the systems supported. Use departmental change management procedures in defining, planning and implementing change in such a way that service disruption is minimised, and Service Levels are maximised.


Experience required:

 

Bachelor degree with experience in a large TV organization (or extensive experience in large TV organization if no degree)

 

Excellent TV Technical knowledge. Change management responsibility and problem management experience. Full understanding of all operating procedures for department systems. Understanding of capacity and performance parameters and thresholds for department systems. Management responsibility experience.


Knowledge of TV infrastructure, change management methodologies, complex problem solving methodology. Project Implementation.
