Full Job Description
Duration 6 month contract
The company is a busy digital media agency based in Borough SE1.
We are looking for an experienced filmmaker/ editor to work on the creation of short videos and interactive media across the London region. We produce work in various genre - drama, documentary and e-learning - for the web and/or DVD.
For this position you need to:
• Relish being in a 'hands on' role and be able and willing to cover a wide variety of skill bases. Be able to work on your own initiative but also be a good team player.
• Be able to set up and use professional grade video cameras / microphones and audio equipment and a 3-point lighting kit to a very high standard - both in the studio and on location.
• Be a very creative and resourceful video editor (Final Cut Pro) and be able to quickly cut together footage to tight deadlines - in a busy environment. Ideally you will also be able to use motion graphics software for titles / special effects etc
• Have a very strong organizational ability, be confident talking to people face to face and on the phone and be able to set up and run media productions efficiently and to schedule.
• Be able to work effectively and enthusiastically with young people, in media productions associated with our media skills training arm. CRB checks will be required.
We run a brand new, fully equipped production studio, complete with infinity wall, DMX controlled lighting rig, HD vision / sound mixers, 3 high end Sony HD cameras, chroma key kit and auto cue etc. This is run for commercial productions and media education. You will also have a number of comprehensive kits for use on location.
The job is due to start in March and is initially offered as a 6 month fixed term contract - but we would hope that it would lead to a permanent role.
We are a small and tightly knit team with 8 full time staff. You will need to enjoy working in a small company atmosphere where you will cover a broad range of skills and always be adaptable. No two days will be the same.
The company is involved in a wide and ever expanding range of web / multimedia production and publishing work for both the public and private sectors. Projects include video based websites, media players and widgets, e-learning projects, viral advert production, film and photography production and media training. Facilitating User Generated Content (UGC) and participant media is one of the company's key aims and services - helping people to create and publish their own media.
SKILLS CHECKLIST (ESSENTIAL):
Extremely capable with pro video / audio / lighting equipment
Talented Video Editor - using Final Cut Pro
Good understanding of video encoding practices
Computer literate (particularly Apple Mac)
Good with young people
Team player
Good production management skills

Experience of tapeless workflows
Multimedia publishing / production company specializing in rich media for the web.
We make websites, shoot films, create e-learning materials and have our own bespoke content managment system designed to make publishing easy. We make content but also train people to make their own.
