Job Purpose:
 
The Senior Producer will be responsible for overseeing the creation and development of on air promotions, sales reels, ad spots and conference reels, and assist with development of the on-air strategy and channel branding for BBC Worldwide Channels.
 
They will manage a team of Promo Producers and Assistant Promo Producers, and will supervise and coach the creative team during the development of work.
 
Dimensions: 
 
The Senior Producer works within the EMEA Creative Team for BBC Worldwide Channels. This position will work across various territories that include Poland, Africa and Scandinavia.
 
Within the team, the position will have the support of the Production Manager, Production Co-ordinator, Production Assistant, and the Head of Production who manages production for all projects across all territories.
 
Principal Accountabilities:
 
* Work proactively with the Creative Director on channels promotional strategy.
* Be responsible for overseeing creation of innovative and effective key promotional and image campaigns, and materials for channels and channels marketing dept, as designated by Creative Director.
* Write creative briefs for internal & external promo producers.
* Approve all continuity and general promotional spots for on air.
* Ensure delivery of most innovative creative using the best and most effective production techniques whether specially shot, animated or clip based, using strong visual imagery, design, audio design, music, sync and voice over to best deliver key messaging to viewers.
* Be a role model for the creative team members providing coaching and supervision where appropriate continually assessing and motivating others.
* Play a leading role in team meetings devising creative solutions for key promotables.
* Ensure that all materials created are in technical compliance for play out and are delivered to project timelines.
* Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ensure all projects are delivered to fixed deadlines.
* Work within the budget issued, including resource management and the contracting of resource personnel - working closely with the team Production Coordinator.
* Obtain by negotiation the best possible value for money.
* Develop strong working relationships with internal / external clients and partners.
* Understand the BBC and Departmental Policies on Equal Opportunities and Diversity / Portrayal.

Working Contacts
The role requires working with other teams within BBC Worldwide Channels on a regular basis including marketing, programming, planning and scheduling. They will also liaise with other departments within BBC Worldwide.
 
The post holder will work with external vendors such as production houses, post production facilities, design houses and music composers for creative services.
 
Problems Faced
 
Worldwide Channels, although part of BBC Worldwide, is a relatively new business and as such operates within a culture of rapid growth. The Senior Producer must be able to work in a fast paced, deadline-sensitive environment and must be adaptable and receptive to change in the workplace.
 
The role requires occasional work outside normal office hours including weekends.
 
Experience & Skills
 
* A proven track record of creative excellence within the on air TV promotion industry.
* Excellent creative skills and creative judgement with a keen interest in art & media.
* People management experience is necessary, including the ability to assess, motivate and coach creative and production staff.
* Experience of managing large scale promotional projects across all media- commissioning and briefing staff/contributors as appropriate.
* Clear knowledge of the appropriate production processes, relevant tools and techniques.
* Ability to self op at offline level (FCP preferred)
* Demonstrate client/audience focus.
* Have an understanding of budgetary constraints within a creative team.
* Have knowledge of working across regions and cultural sensitivity that comes with that.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety Guidelines.
* A professional and creative team leader and team player.
* Great visual, copy and music sense vital.
* Good written and verbal communication skills to pitch ideas clearly and to brief.
* Strong planning & organisational skills.
